Kwon Deok-cheol (Minister of Health and Wealth, Republic of Korea) and Xavier Becerra (Health and Human Services Secretary, US) had a meeting in Washington DC on MAY 22, 2021 to strengthen cooperation between the two countries on health issues.
Kwon also met with executives of US pharmaceutical companies to discuss additional purchases of COVID-19 vaccines and technological cooperation, according the ministry.
The "Korea-US Vaccine Partnership" event was held at the Willard InterContinental Hotel (Washington DC) in the presence of President Moon Jae-in. At the event, a total of four contracts and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony were held between the government and Korean and US companies.
